Willa and Friends
I watched six friends take a group photograph. The first picture took eleven minutes. Everyone arranged a face. Nobody liked it. The second took nine minutes and looked more arranged. Then someone dropped the phone while the timer was running. In the picture, two people are laughing, one is leaving, and nobody is ready. They printed that one. Friendship became visible at the exact moment the group stopped presenting evidence of it. This may be why the best photographs look accidental. Coordination can prove that people met. Disorder proves they know each other.
