01

What Content ID does

YouTube Content ID compares uploaded video audio against a database of reference recordings. A match can create an automated claim that tracks, monetizes or blocks a video for the rights holder.

A Content ID claim is not the same thing as a copyright strike. It is an automated rights-management action, but it can still interrupt publishing or monetization while the claim is reviewed.

02

What we do with shop masters

Soundtrack.Today does not register the shop masters sold on this site in YouTube Content ID. We sell a license to use the recording. We do not sell the copyright, and the artist still owns the composition and master.

The same rule applies to the buyer: the original track, a room mix, a remix or any modified version may not be submitted to Content ID or another rights-management database.

03

What the $20 license covers

One purchase covers an unlimited number of your own completed creative and commercial projects. Use the licensed track in videos, films, games, apps, podcasts, advertisements, livestreams, events and client work.

You may publish and monetize those projects on YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Instagram, Vimeo, websites, television, cinema, app stores and game platforms. There is no subscription and no recurring royalty.

04

Royalty-free still has an owner

Royalty-free describes the license model. It does not mean the music has no copyright. The artist keeps ownership while the license gives you broad, perpetual and non-exclusive permission to place the track inside finished work.

You may edit, trim, loop, fade, time and mix the track inside that work. You may not resell, share or sublicense the audio by itself, claim authorship or use it for AI and machine-learning training.

05

If an automated claim appears

Platform matching systems and third-party claims can make mistakes. Keep the personalized PDF license and Stripe receipt delivered after checkout. Save the video URL, claimant name and screenshot of the claim, then email support@soundtrack.today.

We will verify the purchase and help document the licensed use. The license remains the record of your permission even if a platform changes its matching or dispute process.

06

Files and room mixes

Each purchase includes the original WAV and FLAC master. If you changed speed, tone or space before checkout, it also includes one rendered current mix. Both versions are covered by the same license and personalized PDF.
